Apple TV Not Showing in AirPlay List? Fix It
If your Apple TV is missing from the AirPlay menu, it is almost always asleep, on another network, or restricted by an AirPlay access setting. Here is the fix.
Make Apple TV appear in AirPlay
- Wake the Apple TV by pressing a remote button.
- Match networks: the TV and your device must share the same Wi-Fi.
- Check Allow Access under Settings › AirPlay and HomeKit › Allow Access – set it to Everyone or Anyone on the Same Network for testing.
- Restart the Apple TV and your Apple device.
- Update tvOS so AirPlay discovery works correctly.
On busy networks, router settings that isolate devices (AP isolation or client isolation) can hide AirPlay targets – disable that option on your router.
