How to Link Your Mac to Apple TV
Your Mac can mirror or use Apple TV as a second display through AirPlay. Here is how to connect and what to do if the icon is hidden.
Link Mac to Apple TV
- Put your Mac and Apple TV on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Click the Control Center or AirPlay icon in the menu bar.
- Choose Screen Mirroring and select your Apple TV.
- Pick Mirror Display or Use As Separate Display as you prefer.
- Enter the on-screen passcode if asked.
If the AirPlay icon is missing
- Open System Settings › Displays and enable showing mirroring options in the menu bar.
- Update macOS so AirPlay features are current.
