Your Mac can mirror or use Apple TV as a second display through AirPlay. Here is how to connect and what to do if the icon is hidden.

Link Mac to Apple TV

  1. Put your Mac and Apple TV on the same Wi-Fi network.
  2. Click the Control Center or AirPlay icon in the menu bar.
  3. Choose Screen Mirroring and select your Apple TV.
  4. Pick Mirror Display or Use As Separate Display as you prefer.
  5. Enter the on-screen passcode if asked.

If the AirPlay icon is missing

  • Open System Settings › Displays and enable showing mirroring options in the menu bar.
  • Update macOS so AirPlay features are current.
