Apple ID Locked or Disabled? How to Unlock It
Apple may lock an account after too many failed sign-in attempts or unusual activity. Unlocking it is a matter of verifying that you are the owner.
Unlock your Apple ID
- Go to iforgot.apple.com from any browser.
- Enter your Apple ID and follow the prompts to verify your identity.
- Use your device passcode or trusted phone number to confirm it is you.
- Reset your password when prompted – this also unlocks the account.
- Sign in again on your devices with the new password.
Repeated wrong passwords trigger locks. If someone in your household is entering an old password on a shared device, update it there too.
